The Twenty-Third?
ZIP (and RAR, just in case) file uploading's allowed and simple and I axed the stupid date being prepended to uploaded files so ZIP names won't get super ugly; if I update a file I'll have to go delete it before reuploading, but maybe I can change things so I can overwrite on upload just for the file storage folder...
Let's see, what's left to do... I haven't settled on a good way to seperate post body and extended body text without ugly line breaks; the paragraph markup isn't playing nice with XHTML standards with how I have things formatted, and enclosing large bodies of subtext in div's just seems tacky when I'm just trying to accomplish 2 line breaks. Currently, I have to manually prepend two line breaks before each text body extention (essentially, paragraphs 2+ for a post). For example, before this paragraph I had to hit enter twice for things to display properly. This has two side effects: first it's annoying to me, and second it doesn't preview correctly.
Edit - I went with the ugly line breaks. They actually wound up unugly after a fair bit of tweaking.
I destroyed the category sorting because currently I can't imagine using it; I mean, this and the previous posts are flagged as news, and software review posts will be categorized as software. Other than maybe a misc. category for the rating system, I can't see a category system as being useful. Ah well, if things change it's cake to add back to the left menu.
I'm curious if the current archives system will be ok. I may be looking for a way to list current post titles in the left menu rather than making users navigate by date. I think that's something else that I'll just have to wait a month on after articles get populated.
Looking back, I'm displeased at how much the site design still looks like the default. From a template, graphic file and CSS perspective, it's vastly different (and a fair bit more efficient). I suspect the layout will evolve over time as inspiration strikes.
The search feature seems... lacking. For some words, it finds matches just fine. For some very obvious words it finds nothing; I don't get how it works. I may be using the category system just to serve as a means to find articles via keywords.

I have some basic spam blocking
set up for post comments and a simple cuss filter. Uploaded images automatically thumbnail themselves. Login names are hidden and our real names are shown instead; makes sense from a security standpoint to keep both the login name and password secret instead of just one of the two.Let's see how a right box looks.
I'm not sure if I'm going to expose a login link on the site, not for security reasons, but for aesthetic reasons. Sean and I will have direct links to login, but currently it's not planned to have ''site members'' so having an easily accessible login would be a waste of space and possibly confusing.I destroyed the category sorting because currently I can't imagine using it; I mean, this and the previous posts are flagged as news, and software review posts will be categorized as software.
